I’ve just recently started dipping into the SLR market, and I was wondering how exactly one would take black and white photos?
Would it be by using black and white film? (In which case, could you load it onto a color camera?) Filters? (If so, which ones would you recommend?)
I’m currently using a Nikon N80/F80, with a 50mm prime lens.

manual cameras have nothing to do with color or bw, its the film you put in it. if your just learning about SLR photography, I suggest taking a class at your local college. There’s lots to learn that you’d never realize. Thats what I did and learned SO much, and the class was fun too!

This camera, any film camera, doesn’t care what film you put into it as long as it’s the correct size - 35mm. B/W or Color doesn’t matter.
Of course the processing is different when you get them processed but that’s about it.

Yup, BW film.
