I was wondering how good a Nikon D40 SLR Camera is. Does anyone have any idea?

I dont know If I am late to answer this, but, D40 and D40X are getting discontinued.
They are general SLR cameras, worth its price and good for any family use. I ended up in Nikon D60.

A good entry level camera but superceded by the Nikon D60.
Although low on megapixels by current standards it is still capable of producing excelent enlargments to 8″x 12″ and greater. http://photography.suite101.com/article.…
Probably the biggest drawback is the lack of image stabilisation in the camera body, you have to pay extra for special VR lenses to get this facility.

Its an entry level DSLR. Very basic program.
But, it will still break if you drop it.
